Francotyp-Postalia (FP) was founded in 1923 in Berlin, Germany. The mailing solution company has subsidiary companies in the US, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Canada, Italy, Sweden, Singapore, and Austria. FP is represented by dealers in more than 40 countries and has a global market share of about 10%. In Austria and Germany, FP enjoys a market share of over 40%.
Where other companies that produce franking machines and other mail stream products cater to large companies, FP focuses more on small to medium sized businesses. FP has developed separate product lines specifically tailored to small, medium, and large businesses.
FP prides itself on being environmentally responsible. As of 2006, FP has ensured that all products comply with Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive 2002/95/EC, adopted by the European Union in 2003. FP also recycles and uses recycled packaging, reuses incoming packaging for shipping, and manufacturing machines to high quality standards to extend the life cycle of products.
